The Eastern Cape Children’s Choir was founded in 1982. It consists of between 60 and 70 children of all races and cultures, between the ages of 10 and 15 years. The children represent schools throughout the larger Nelson Mandela Metropolitan Municipality and surrounding towns, including Addo, Jeffrey’s Bay and Patensie. 

On October 6th, 2010, the choir returned from its 10th International Concert tour, having visited 7 cities in 18 days in Germany, France and Switzerland. Every performance was rewarded with a standing ovation, appreciative comments about the choir's discipline on and off the stage, their clear sound, excellent  voice technique, good diction, and perfect pronunciation of foreign languages. Every newspaper review raved about the choir and a number of invitations to return have already been received.
