The Eastern Cape Children’s Choir was founded in 1982. It consists of between 60 and 70 children of all races and cultures, between the ages of 10 and 15 years. The children represent schools throughout the larger Nelson Mandela Metropolitan Municipality and surrounding towns, including Addo, Jeffrey’s Bay and Patensie. The choir returned from its 9th international tour (this time to Germany, Finland and Estonia) in October 2008, where they were, without fail, applauded for their high technical and musical standards and excellent discipline. Their 10th international tour will take place during September/October 2010. Invitations were received from Germany, France and Switzerland.
